Filofax, Page-markers

❤❤Cute Kokeshi Doll Pagemarkers ❤❤

It was my birthday on Wednesday, and on that day I took the train in the morning to do a Japanese calligraphy (shodo) workshop in Northern Liverpool!  This lovely artist I know teaches pottery and he asked me to do a workshop for his pottery students.  I was totally nervous at the beginning, but his students were really lovely so I could enjoy the workshop myself in the end.  I hope they enjoyed it, too!!

*I’m hiding their faces as I forgot to ask them if it was alright to put the photos up on my blog!

Then in the evening my mother-in-law brought some presents and her homemade birthday cake for me!  It was such a gorgeous cake with chocolate cream inside.

So now my birthday is over, and I’ve been working on some new items like page-markers and calendar stickers.  I’d like to show you some sample page-markers I’ve made.

I made a window in the middle for the blue one.  If there is a window like this it becomes uneven when I laminate it, so it’s not my favourite type of page-marker to make (lol!), but I LOVE the window for some reason so I really wanted to make a sample with a window.

This is how it looks when it’s set in my Pocket sized Filofax (Finsbury).  (I’m thinking of making them in three sizes: Pocket, Personal and A5.)

The ribbon pops out from the top.

This page-marker is approx. 45mm wide.

And the pink one is more simple, but it’s longer.

So you can turn the page from either the top or the bottom.

The width is also 45mm, but it looks quite wide in my Pocket Finsbury, doesn’t it??

I’m thinking of making a set of multiple page-markers instead of just selling one, so I’d like to ask you what kind of set you would like to have!  How many page-markers would you want in one set?  Any preferable size?  Colours?

*You can see more details of the one on the right on THIS PAGE.

I would really appreciate your opinions!!  And thank you for reading!

  1. oh my gosh! adorable!!! LOVE them all! OH and Happy Birthday!!! I think selling a set like pictured with the 3 would be great.. I use 2 page markers in my binder.(using a Franklin Covey right now) I love how the big ribbon sticks out at the top!
Im excited to see your calendar stickers!!

    1. Thank you, Suzee! Oh, I love your green Franklin Covey binder! And thank you very much for your opinion- I’ll work on making pagemarker sets this week, and hopefully put them up sometime soon 🙂

  2. Happy Birthday… I really like your markers. I agree with Suzee that you should bundle together, 2 markers and clear marker or stickers would be nice. My filofax is a Malden in Personal size. I love the ribbon sticking out too. It’s so lovely.
Pls have them on etsy soon. I can’t wwait to place an order ^^

  3. Yay you made them! And they’re lovely! I’ve been mocking up my own whilst waiting which makes me all the more amazed at how pretty, neat and stylish yours are! I love the clear one best, but SO hard to make! The bow at the top is so cute! I would certainly want a set rather than just one – one of each character in the corresponding colour perhaps? 🙂

    1. Hi Helen! Great! So you made some pagemarkers yourself! Oh, that’s right, you told me that you’d like the characters on the tabs similar to my dividers! I’ll try to make them over the week and hopefully show them to you on this blog soon 🙂

      1. I did, but you’d laugh if you saw them – they really are *very* rough and scrappy. They do, however, let me know the size and style that works for me – somehow you seem to know that already though, looking at yours 🙂 Honestly I don’t know how you manage to make such lovely things by hand! Can’t wait to see the finished versions! Pack of 5 sounds good to me though 😀

        1. They may look easy to make, but it’s quite tricky to make them, isn’t it? I’m getting quicker, but it still takes about 1.5 hours or even 2 hours sometimes to go through all the steps to make just one set of 5 dividers! Now I have a Silhouette Cameo and I’m hoping that it can cut all the dividers to save time for me, but to do that I first have to modify all the files to let Cameo know where exactly to cut, and I haven’t done that yet. I made a set of 3 pagemarkers last night (I’m putting them up here probably tonight!), and I think a set of 3 works really well. A set of 5 could be quite challenging – you will know what I mean when you see my next post!)

  4. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Once again you’ve managed to out-do yourself…the pagemarkers are the absolute cutest! A 3 pack would be great. How about a charm too? (hint hint) Maybe an option to choose which character would spice it up a bit. Although, all the characters are completely adorable anyway!! Seems you’ll be busy with a bunch of new orders!!

    1. Thank you very much, Jes! It seems like I should go for a pack of 3 then 🙂 Oh, yes, it would be nicer if you could choose the characters, I’ll definitely keep that in my mind, thank you! Oh, Gosh, I will be really busy for a while! 😉 I’ll probably take a bit longer for the charms, but a set of page-markers, a charm and some stickers or something would be nice, wouldn’t it? Thank you for giving me the inspiration!

  5. Call me crazy, but I’d like something that’s a cross between a divider and a marker! A marker is obviously something you’ll move often, and dividers are usually fixed in their position. A key difference is that usually markers are all right next to the rings so if you have several markers they are all aligned above the same position which means you can only see the top one easily. It would be good to have them staggered like tabs on dividers so they can be more easily seen. So is there some way to get the best of both worlds….

    1. OMG, I really appreciate your comment! I was worrying about the same thing that the pagemarkers would be in the same position next to the ring and you wouldn’t be able to see the ones on the back. But I was going to try to make them like that anyway to see how it would work. But after reading your comment, I decided to make something between dividers and pagemarkers, and I managed to make a set last night! I think I can put them up here tonight- I wonder what you’ll think of them…! Anyway, thank you so much for your advice 😉

  6. I like the set of three different ones too and I love the sound of the markers, stickers and a charm in a set but I did see your reply about the charms not being available until you have perfected them. I’d like the markers in A5 please.

    1. Thank you very much for your opinion, and I’m definitely going to make a set of items 🙂 For now I’m concentrating on increasing the *range* of items first, and when I have enough of a range I’ll start to combine them as sets 🙂 I’ve got some ideas in my head, and I can’t wait to create the actual stuff to see in front of my eyes! Oh, yes, I’ll make sure to make them for the A5 size!

  7. Ok you are just too cute and talented…next payday feb 1 I.m heading over to your shop to get some personal size inserts for my fitness FILO. I need inspiration and cuteness and fun to help in my journey and I love these. I would like to see page markers sold in sets of two (a window and a plain) and also sold individually. As for colors I,m not big into pink so I like blues turquoise yellows citrus green…I also like shades of chocolate brown with light orange citrus etc and blue and browns too!

      1. Thank you very much for your comment, Cheryl! Thank you for your advice on the colours, you’ve been really helpful! I’ll brush up the designs and hopefully make nice sets of those page-markers 🙂 By the way, I’ve actually just made a totally new set last night, and I’ll be putting it up after writing this comment to you so please look out for it!

  8. You are SO talented! I absolutely LOVE your blog posts, even if they make me incredibly jealous because I’m nowhere near as artistic as you are!
